Created collaboratively by patients and healthcare professionals specializing in Thalassemia in Canada, the app aims to support individuals in managing their chronic blood disorder more effectively.

The primary objective of thalTracker is to assist users in monitoring their iron levels and related complications, identifying overall trends, enhancing adherence to prescribed treatments, and streamlining communication with healthcare providers during routine clinic visits. The app provides timely reminders to take medications and attend appointments while promoting positive behaviors essential for effective disease self-management. Users are encouraged to input relevant data, such as blood test results and imaging findings—including ferritin levels, cardiac MRI, and liver MRI iron measurements.

An adherence feature allows users to set individual chelation therapy goals and track progress toward these targets. It is designed to support improved compliance with chelation medication over time, potentially contributing to better health outcomes.

It is important to note that thalTracker should be used in conjunction with consultation from healthcare professionals and does not replace medical advice or treatment recommendations. The app does not collect any health or personal data; all information entered remains stored solely on the user's device, respecting privacy at the highest level.
